Idlehour is situated in St Ives Bay, acclaimed as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. You can look forward to waking with the morning sun as it rises over the eastern shore and watch from your bed as it gradually lights up the town before your eyes. Why not use the binoculars provided to watch the little fishing boats heading out to sea on the morning tide. Or perhaps if the famous St Ives Lifeboat gets called into service during your stay, then you can watch it launch right from your bedroom window. Harbour view from master bedroom. The winter is a spectacular time to visit St Ives. The stormy days are exhilarating, although you are just as likely to experience stolen days of warm winter sunshine. Either way it is a great time to get out and experience the ‘great Cornish outdoors` Take the beautiful coastal path to Zennor and stop for lunch at The Tinners Arms, or head in the opposite direction taking the coastal path to Carbis Bay, perhaps stopping for afternoon tea at the spectacular Carbis Bay Hotel where it invites you to stop and enjoy the wonderful views.  Idlehour is only 2 minutes from the famous Sloop Inn. Dating back to 1312 this charming old pub boasts the finest local ales and amazing seafood dishes. This beautiful old part of town is packed with many excellent restaurants and numerous art galleries including, of course, ‘The Tate Gallery` All are just a short walk from the cottage, no hills to contend with! The nearby beaches regularly proudly boast `Blue Flag’ status and are Lifeguarded, courtesy of the R.N.L.I from Easter to October. Porthmeor having a Surf School where you can learn safely to ride the rolling Atlantic Waves that beat it’s shore. Beach.  If all this is still not enough to keep you entertained, there is always the busy little harbour with it’s fishing trips, leisurely sight seeing pleasure boat trips to Seal Island, exhilarating high speed power boat trips or perhaps steer yourself more sedately in a self drive motor boat around the bay.
